Busra Altintas is an Associate at Hansu Attorney Partnership. She advises and represents domestic and international companies across a range of sectors in enforcement and insolvency law, debt recovery, commercial disputes and contracts, and personal data protection.
At the centre of her practice is the effective protection and recovery of corporate receivables, and the design of enforcement and insolvency strategy whether acting for the creditor or the debtor. She conducts a range of enforcement routes, including proceedings with and without a court judgment, proceedings specific to bills of exchange, realisation of movable pledges and mortgages, bankruptcy proceedings, and eviction of leased immovable property.
In enforcement and insolvency disputes she represents clients in related actions and applications, including requests for precautionary attachment and interim injunctions, actions for cancellation of objection, negative declaration and recovery, avoidance of transactions, third-party (istihkak) claims, setting aside of auctions and complaints against enforcement acts. She also follows steps aimed at completing recovery, including enforcement auctions, sale of attached assets and registration of claims in the bankruptcy estate.
Financial distress and insolvency-related work forms another substantial part of her practice. She advises on concordat processes, the legal assessment of balance-sheet insolvency, bankruptcy procedures and corporate rescue, and supports the protection of creditors' rights and the management of legal risks arising in debtor companies' restructuring.
Her commercial and obligations-law work also covers putting in place the contractual framework needed for companies' day-to-day operations. She drafts, reviews and assesses the legal risks of commercial and private-law contracts of various kinds, including advertising, procurement of services, distribution, donation, confidentiality, services, employment, loan and settlement agreements.
She acts for domestic and international companies in sectors including food, cosmetics and consumer products, energy, construction, healthcare and medical devices, and petroleum and lubricants. She provides preventive advice to reduce contractual risk before a dispute arises, and, where a dispute does arise, represents clients before the courts and enforcement authorities.
In addition to her legal education, Altintas studied International Relations. Before joining Hansu Attorney Partnership she gained experience in litigation, advisory work and matter management at a law firm practising in enforcement and insolvency, corporate and commercial law, and other private-law disputes.
Altintas's approach is to focus not only on the commencement of enforcement, but on the entire life of a claim: from the contract and security, through the debtor's assets, the choice of enforcement route, interim protective measures, potential litigation and insolvency risk, to the actual completion of recovery.
